About Us

DailyToast was founded in January 2000 by three business colleagues who shared a common frustration with the current tools and techniques for annotating and sending information to each other. They founded DailyToast with the vision of using technology to effortlessly connect people with the information they needed and wanted.

DailyToast, Inc. is comprised of proven technology industry veterans from leading organizations such as Gillette/Braun, General Dynamics, Gryphon Software, Hughes Aircraft, and Qualcomm. Our engineering team includes experts in developing and delivering complex software systems.

DailyToast is headquartered in San Diego, California and is a member of Association of Shareware Professionals .

Darrel Drinan, Co-Founder and President
Mr. Drinan was the Director of New Program Management for Braun Thermoscan, a division of The Gillette Company (1995-1999). His primary responsibilities were leading the development of new consumer medical products for the Braun subsidiary. In addition, he was responsible for leading research and discovery efforts to locate and or develop new technologies for use by Braun. Prior to joining Braun Thermoscan he held various positions of increasing responsibility with General Dynamics in their Convair Division from 1985 through 1995. Mr. Drinan holds a BS in Productions/Operations Management from Arizona State University and an MS in Business from West Coast University.

Adrian Alting-Mees, Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer
Mr. Alting-Mees was the Manager of Software Development for Braun Thermoscan, a division of The Gillette Company (1993-1999). He has over 15 years of experience in the electronics and computer fields. He most recently designed and developed hardware and software for the medical products division of Braun/Thermoscan. He has been involved with the design, development and maintenance of multi-user computer system and software for international and domestic manufacturing plants. Mr. Alting-Mees holds a BSEE degree from the University of Southern California.

Mike Malone, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Malone was the COO of Stellcom Technologies a software engineering solution company. He has over 10 years of active senior management experience with software/startup companies. He was the President and CEO of Gryphon Software and General Manager of Silicon Beach Software. He is one of the founding members of the San Diego Software and Internet Council. Mr. Malone holds a BA and JD from Gonzaga University, is a CPA and was a member of the Bar in the State of Washington.
